Wampum Belt by Marya Blake for Robert Griffing

This Wampum Belt was made by Marya Blake uses the same construction technique that can be found on the original double strand twining tech unlike the more commonly used loom work, this means these beads were put on one at a time.

This belt has over 10,000 beads, it is known sometimes as the George Washington covenant belt or the Treaty of Canandaigu belt. This belt was made for historical artist Robert Griffing for a upcoming painting of the Treaty of Canandaigu Griffing has been working on now for 2 years. He says this painting is his largest to date. The Treaty of Canadaigu was signed Nov 11, 1794 between the grand council of the Haudenosaunee and the United States of America being represented by Timothy Pickering. It was the second diplomatic agreement America entered into under its new Constitution.

Envy: The Make Lounge

This place looks lovely! The Make Lounge:

Lust: Brassieres

As of yesterday, I have destroyed a grand total of 8 bras in my short lifetime. So in the spirit of oddities that have to do with that glorious lifting, separating, constricting hellhole we (usually) strap on every day before leaving the house, I thought I would post some pictures of interesting variations on the topic. Feast your eyes!

Television Bra (to keep others entertained, I imagine... how rude!)

I don't know where she was going with this one...

This one is actually my favourite, and I'm considering getting one for REAL.

Bacon. Need I say more?

Is this humane? I'm sure the fish are enjoying themselves... better than the Gulf of Mexico right now, that's for sure.

Gluttony: Grilled Cheese Academy

The poor man's food: Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. When you have a little cash, I suggest browsing this website, with your speakers ON and then proceed to pick a favourite and indulge! Browsing through the "Institution dedicated to deliciousness" will drive you wild after you've hit up the first couple of concoctions. Sorry, lactose-intolerants (unless you have delicious soy substitutes!) - maybe change the cheese into some grilled vegetables or a portobello mushrooms.

My favourites so far (I have yet to try them... waiting for the dough):

#2 THE PILGRIM
Features Wisconsin Gouda and smoked turkey breast smothered in cranberry mustard and sage-butter.

#4 THE NANTUCKET
A scrumptious little ditty made with Wisconsin Aged Cheddar, Cream Cheese, and lox on country French bread.

#8 THE PERRY
A heavenly creation of Wisconsin Blue cheese, Port wine-braised pears, and candied almond slices.

#26 THE BIRCHWOOD
There’s so much to savor with Wisconsin Aged Brick and Cheddar, a sunny-side-up egg, and sautéed mushrooms.

Would have to try once:

#19 THE LISA MARIE
A splendid creation featuring Wisconsin Butterkäse accompanied by peanut butter and bananas.

#30 THE BIANCA
Wisconsin Mascarpone, dulce de leche, and raspberry preserves on cinnamon raisin bread.

Wrath: Washroom Graffiti

The graffiti we find in washrooms has been a recent topic of multiple conversations lately! It was mentioned that someone had completed their Masters Thesis on the differences between graffiti in Men's and Women's washrooms, and it seems there are quite a few differences indeed. Media, for one, is huge- the PURSE of a woman and how it is brought to the washroom with her most of the time is a big factor. Graffiti is written in more media in Women's washrooms, I imagine, considering the utensils found in a purse: eyeliner, lipstick, nail polish, etc. What do men write with? I only have the one side of this discussion.

Variation in subject matter is probably another one. In a recent visit to the lower section of Sneaky Dee's, it seems the graffiti-laden bowels of the establishment are completely littered in such a wide variety of notes to its viewers.

"If your not creating the Ripple of love, your creating the vacuum of shit"

"life is about the journey, don't forget!"

"Never have bangs in the summer, its a Bitch xo"

"Why is it SO hard to pee in the bowl NOT on the seat?"

We have advice on hairstyles, proper bathroom etiquette, and general advice on how to live a full, enjoyed life. Are women always trying to tell others what to do? I did find other notes, like declarations of love to various men, bands and countries, but it seemed these were far less interesting than the self-advocated advice columnists'. Illustrations were few and far between, and mostly poorly drawn. I have much curiosity now to find out what is scribbled in the men's washroom pre-mid-post business.

Lust: Technology vs Eroticism

I've decided that if ever I was to go for a Masters degree, it would be the history of Erotic Literature and Art.. so I've started doing research in the modern era! These are fantastic:
